Neal Cabernet Sauvignon
Neal Family has been in the wine growing business in the Napa Valley for forty years. Mark Neal built Neal Family Vineyards winery to complement the family history. Their goal is to craft superior organically farmed wines, produced and bottled on Howell Mountain in Napa County. Only using organic practices since 1984 and currently only crushing certified organically grown grapes. They are CCOF certified (California Certified Organic Farmers) November 2009.
This vintage has aromas of blackberry and red cherry fruit, spice and baked sugar tempered by a subtle amount of new French Oak. The color is dark and has a moderately high amount of velvety tannins, creating a firm, complex mouthful of flavors. The cherry and berry fruit flavors mimic the aromas and create a sense of sweetness, although there is no residual sugar. The youthful tannin along with nutmeg and other baking spices linger in a long, pleasant finish. Great for cellaring or drinking after a short decant.
