Mathilde Chapoutier Côtes De Provence Rosé
$17.99 per btl w/6+
My focus has been small production and hidden gems from the U.S., but after trying this Rosé, Mathilde Chapoutier would be the wine I would cross the pond to offer. This French wine comes with a background story. My sons and their friends are big into sports and love following the Barstool Sports Guy. Just before July 4th, my friend and her family were on vacation and listening to Dave Portnoy the Barstool Sports Guy on Twitter. My friend perked up when she heard him mention Nantucket and Rosé WINE. She had her son replay the post and knew she wanted to try this special Rosé. After visiting several wine shops, they finally found it. To her surprise, the price point was quite approachable at $20. As most of my wine discoveries go, I tried it, loved it and knew right away that it had to be offered in our PWJ wine shop. Cheers!
Mathilde Chapoutier Rosé appeals to wine lovers who simply wish to enjoy the dry style Rosé from the famous Côtes de Provence region, known for its aromatic, sophisticated table wines. This edgy yet accessible wine pairs perfectly with home cooking or rich seafood.
Bloomberg listed among their “Best Rosés Under $25”.
Aromas of peach, citrus and tropical fruits. On the palate, the wine is round and delicious with peach and apricot notes and a silky mouthfeel. Bright acidity balances the round texture.
Gave this Rosé a score of 90. A medium to light-bodied, refreshing and crisp, yet still with intense flavor.
